Return to Tyria Sweepstakes question
I had this not-so-important regarding the new sweepstakes for Guild Wars. I entered myself in, and I'm curious as to whether it is possible to withdraw from the contest. There are certain circumstances going on that may force me to withdraw from the contest, I'm just not sure how. Would it require e-mail contact with ArenaNet, or is there some other way off of the Guild Wars website?

Are you worried because you might be moving to a location that can't win, ie europe or quebec?

No, it's not that. There are more personal circumstances going on. I'm simply wondering if there is any way other than contacting ArenaNet through e-mail to withdraw from the contest. Even then, could I withdraw through e-mail contact?

I read over the General Conditions for the contest and didn't see anything about withdrawing your entry...
I say try sending in a form at http://support.guildwars.com to see what can be done about it... If it comes down to the fact that removing you from the contest is just too problematic, just remember that theres TONS of people entering and the chances of you winning are very slim |

No one here knows how they are handling the sweepstakes entries, so we don't know how to withdraw.
If contacting support doesn't help, you will need to wait to see if you receive a "you have won" notification. At that point you can refuse the prize and they will draw another name. I believe that normally extra names are drawn in case any winners turn out to be ineligible.

Incidentally, does this contest give us a release date and price for Eye of the North? The drawing is July 20th, the prizes include copies of EotN, and the ARV of EotN is listed at $40. Hmmm.

Also, the odds of you personally winning anything are slim to none. I REALLY wouldn't worry too much about it.
Also, yes they did give us a day for when the GW:EN could be awarded, but that doesn't neccessarily mean the servers will be up yet (they can send you a box with an account key whenever they want, doesn't mean the game will be up and online yet). |
